Nation On Fire

When your country is under martial law
When your leaders no longer care
When the people are eager to burn everything down


Some people are very concerned if anyone looks or acts different
Even if it is irrelevant to the job


I see my faith as the most important thing
But others think following rules are
Not other rules but just their rules


Change is happening too fast for many
But it wasn’t my generation that started this technology
Yet we get blamed for its problems


Nobody agrees on their faith
All split into a million little pieces
3 different point of view for every person


Yet when it comes to change they all agree
The only solution is to use violence


Police and the military are only legal
Because they are controlled by the government


When the government is unwilling to help the poor
Or enforce health and safety laws
The country has transformed into a police state
That no longer follows laws unless they target the Other


It becomes essential to fit in when the consequence is prison
In another country run by evil people trained by my country
